How to Gain Access to NYFW Exclusive Presentations and Shows
Fall NYFW tends to bring the energy, excitement, drama, and of course fashion. This year NYFW is September 10-16, 2025. It’s great to go to New York even if you do not have tickets as mentioned in this article. But, what if you want to gain access to the exclusive shows and presentations? Here’s how you can gain access to the NYFW shows and presentations:
Team up with Magazine as Media, Photographer, or Writer
Magazines are always looking for NYFW interns for coverage and sneak previews. Find a magazine or popular online blog and reach out to the magazine explaining your expertise and how you would benefit them. Reach out to magazine as media personnel, photographer, or writer. Fashion Bomb Daily is a great example of a blog to reach out to.
Of course, it is expected that you honor the deliverables but this is a great way to gain access to fashion week shows. If you already have a popular blog, I would suggest reaching out to the fashion show’s PR team and requesting a ticket. Many influencers have been able to get into shows by requesting a ticket based upon their social media and/or blog.
Work as Stylist for fashion show/presentation
I’ve gained access to shows mostly by working behind the scenes. I worked as a fashion stylist/model dresser for many shows such as Tommy Hilfiger, Perry Ellis, and others. As a fashion stylist, I dressed the models. With that being said, usually you are only at that show for the day but you will get exclusive backstage access, network, and be apart of NYFW.
How to work as a fashion stylist for the fashion show? Research PR companies, lead stylists for the show and reach out to them for opportunity.
Work on Beauty team of Fashion show/presentation.
Another way to gain access to shows is to work on the beauty team as make-up artist, hair stylist, manicurist/nail tech, etc. similar to fashion stylist, you will work with the models at the shows to execute the designer’s vision. Again, you are usually are at 1 show per day but you get access to backstage, networking, and apart of NYFW action.
How to work on beauty team for the fashion show? Research PR companies, lead beauty experts for the show and reach out to them for opportunity.
Use your brand and email PR companies for access.
If you are a popular brand or influencer, use your brand and influence and email the PR companies that represent the designers for NYFW for access to the shows. Many shows used to be exclusive but now they have opened the shows to influencers and other media personnel.
Some PR companies include PR consulting, Karla Otto, and Purple PR. Do your diligent research to find which PR company is representing what fashion brand and who to contact within the company for NYFW access.
Network with Photographers.
Lastly, networking with photographers is a great way to get access to the shows. Many photographers are looking for stylish people to take pics of outside and in the shows. Networking with the photographer can help gain access to some shows and events.
To find photographers, research Instagram and also past presentations and runway shows to learn who are the photographers.
